Emmanuel Paige was born in the city of Aberdeen, Washington in 1970. He spent his formative years in a Sawyeresque fashion, fishing and catching frogs on the muddy banks of the Hoquiam river, skateboarding in the Sunset Memorial Park cemetery because the pavement there was well maintained, and listening to scary stories told around the campfire at night. He discovered early on that storytelling was an art form he found irresistible and intriguing.

When Emmanuel turned eighteen, he moved to Alaska and lived in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley in the town of Wasilla for ten years and that is where he met his beautiful significant other, Angela Megl. She has been a part of his life ever since, and they are happy together to this day. They moved to Indiana for ten years, living in the town of Martinsville. Emmanuel enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington and obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in computer information systems with a concentration in computer programming. Upon his graduation from college, he and Angela decided to move west, back to Washington state, and now they both reside in Olympia—the Capitol City. He is currently earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and creative writing with a concentration in fiction from Southern New Hampshire University.

Emmanuel started writing at the age of fifteen, inspired by a middle school composition class teacher who told him anyone can be a writer, if they so desire. He tried his hand at a few short stories and poems and was amazed by the outcome. He wasn’t good at it, but he liked the process and the act of creating art. He has been hooked ever since, unable to give up this maniacal obsession to put words together and create stories. In the beginning, he was inspired by authors such as Louis L’Amour, S. E. Hinton, Mark Twain, and Jack London. Later, he read works by Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, and Robert Louise Stevenson and was impressed by the classics. Ultimately, he discovered prolific contemporary writers like Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Clive Barker and realized that he had found his niche. He likes tales of horror, supernatural, and suspense and it reflects in what he reads and writes.

Writing is Emmanuel’s passion and it has been a lifelong endeavor. He is devoted to the craft of creative writing and always strives to learn and improve. He looks back and is pleased with most of his writing and publishing accomplishments and failures: he has self-published books and articles on his own. He is the creator of a small publishing venture known as Stark Raven Press. He edited and published a magazine called Macabre Cadaver for a few years. He has garnered numerous rejections from established publications, while having a few acceptances. It has not been an amazing or noteworthy career, but he persists, nonetheless.

When he is not busy writing he spends his time working, reading, and studying. Some of his hobbies include, computer programming, graphic design, hiking and nature walks, fishing, camping, bicycling, drawing, painting, playing guitar, and navel-gazing. Sometimes he can be found just relaxing in his easy chair with his Kindle and playing with his black cat named Raven.
